Mandarin - the spoken language

It is important to be aware of the many dialects existing in China.

Of all the dialects, mandarin is considered the official language and the language is taught in schools all over the country. One can say that every person in China has two native languages – mandarin as well as the local dialect.
Mandarin is spoken in mainland China in particular, but also to some extent in Taiwan , Hong Kong and Singapore.

Also, the Chinese language can be divided into three levels: low, middle and upper-class language. The upper-class language is looked upon in China as a positive feature.

A Western company wanting to penetrate the Chinese market will be regarded as a reputable and serious company, if an employee masters upper-class Chinese.
