Delivery

Go back...

We work on both PC and Mac – as do most graphic designers, printing houses and advertising agencies. Translations are delivered in formats easily used by both professionals as well as private people.

The price is determined according to the individual text.

Is your preferred format of delivery material not mentioned on this page – contact us and we will check up on the availability of your request.

For choice of font: See lists of available fonts for simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese...
Unless other is specifically requested the font Song will be used.

A) Translation of a brochure
We translate using existing layout as template and also do DTP. Finally we outline the characters and save the translation as an eps file. There is no need for the recipient's computer to be able to support Chinese characters or that the recipient should understand Chinese.
You need DTP software such as PageMaker on your computer to see
Example A

In case you already have the Chinese translation as a Word document, send it to us and we can convert it and do as described above.

B) Ad produced in Quark Xpress
We will load it as Adobe InDesign, do DTP, outline the characters and save it as an InDesign file. The computer of the recipient will not need to be able to support Chinese characters.
You need InDesign or Quark Xpress on your computer to see Example B
Alternatively: the file is delivered as an eps file containing text only, ready for QX – see the Example A
)
C) For customers who handle DTP in-house
The file is delivered as an Illustrator file (version CS if no other agreement is made) which can be used by Mac-users with Illustrator. If you have Mac Operating System 9 (or a newer OS) and said yes to install the Simplified Chinese font system, then the characters are supported directly and you can perform DTP work. You should then outline the characters before you transfer it as an eps file for additional work in Quark Xpress or PageMaker.
You need Illustrator on your computer to see Example C

C1: Alternatively – for customers with Illustrator:
We can outline the characters. This will enable you to work with the characters without software that supports Chinese characters. The file can then be used by both Windows and Mac users in Illustrator.
You need Illustrator on your computer to see the Example C1

C2: Alternatively – for customers who do not use Illustrator:
The file can be delivered as an eps file, which can be used in Word, PageMaker and Quark Xpress in both Windows and Mac environment.
For this solution, see Example A

C3: Alternatively – for customers using Windows 2000 multi language version and Word 2000:
This delivery is for customers who wish to do additional work on the text and then make prints of more simple pages in-house without using a printing house. (This delivery requires that the customer chooses a font – see lists of fonts for simplified Chinese or traditional Chinese...)
See Example C3

D) For customers who do not handle DTP in-house
If the text is only needed for photo copying or as an enclosure in a letter the file can be received with the characters outlined and saved in pdf format. This solution is also ideal for electronic storage.
You need Acrobat Reader on your computer to see Example D

E) Web site production in Chinese
Usually the text is delivered in Microsoft Word. (Text that has not been converted into graphics is supported by all browsers in China .)
The advantage of simple text is that the downloading time is shorter, as opposed to graphics. The text also shows on English or Danish computers if “Simplified Chinese” is chosen in “Characters” in the browser menu.
See Example E
For Flash Graphics – the recommended solution is C2 (Example A).

F) For Power Point slides
We have two solutions:

F1: If the delivered file is to be used on an non-Chinese computer the text is translated, typed and converted into graphics.
You need Microsoft Power Point on your computer to see Example F1

F2: If the delivered file is to be shown on a Chinese computer the text is translated and typed. This (ordinarily typed) text can be used directly.
You need a Chinese version of Microsoft Power Point or to have added a Chinese font to your computer to see Example F2
